Cage life, upgraded

A bored parrot will find its own project

Foraging toys, shreddable chews, natural-wood perches and cuttlebone — the things that give a clever bird something to do all day.

Why size matters

A budgie toy is a hazard for a macaw

Every toy here is listed with the bird sizes it suits and the materials it is made from. A toy sized for a cockatiel can be pulled apart by a larger parrot in minutes, and that is a safety problem, not a value one.

About the Parrot Pantry

A bird shop that keeps birds

Birds of a Feather Parrot Pantry is a specialist bird shop on San Pedro Dr NE in Albuquerque. We stock enrichment rather than everything: foraging toys, shreddable chews, natural perches and the pantry staples that go with them. Every listing states the materials, the hardware and the bird sizes it suits, because those are the three things that decide whether a toy is safe in your cage.

Before you order

How do I know a toy is the right size?

Each listing names the bird sizes it suits — small (budgie, lovebird), medium (cockatiel, conure) or large (amazon, african grey, macaw). When in doubt, size up on hardware and down on the shreddable parts.

Are the materials safe to chew?

Materials are listed on every page: untreated wood, seagrass, corn husk, sola, stainless or nickel-plated hardware. Anything with a coating says so.

How quickly do toys need replacing?

Shreddable toys are meant to be destroyed — that is the point. Hardwood and stainless items last far longer. Replace anything with a cracked bell, a frayed rope or exposed sharp edges immediately.

What if my bird ignores it?

Some birds need a toy hung beside a favourite perch for a few days before touching it. If a sealed item genuinely does not work out, the Returns & Refunds page sets out the window and the process.

When new toys land

An occasional note when a new foraging line arrives. Never more than that.
